Do these look okay? If it wasn't apparent I've never done electrical soldering before. Below is what it looked like before.

Kinja'd!!!

Those divots had to be filled in, so I applied solder and then began to file down so they were a uniform height.

This is the other side of the board after I applied solder, but I haven't filed it down yet.

Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

it looks clean enough with the filing, I just leave it snotty though. Damn I dont miss doing this work on a slew of Volvo 850/V70 ABS modules and Benz R129 speedo clusters so the damn top works :)

the connections appear that they would be good, and they don't leak over onto anything else to cause a short. why did the divots have to be filled?

why do you need to file it? can't tell if its a cold joint or not now...

The divots are wear points which shouldn't be there according to B-Body forums, and are the culprit for a malfunctioning speedometer.

It was recommended to file them down so that they were all the same height. I don't know what a cold joint is....

Just read about them. Not sure if that is what I did

From what I can gather from your previous posts, those pads are to connect to pins of a connector that pushes on them. The most important thing here would be to clean off any flux that would get in the way of a good connection. Also if you have some electrical cleaner, hit the connector side so the pins are nice and shiny. a tiny brass brush might work too. It seems like adding solder is more to raise the pad so there is a good connection, than to really connect anything on the board better. So, just clean both sides real good. Let me know how it works out. This kind of thing is my bag, I'm an EE.

as a side note, working on a board like this, without any ESD protection might fry a chip. I hope its pretty humid where you are. (Humidity dissipates ESP somewhat and makes a discharge less likely.)

cold joint is when the solder didn't bond the two connections together but really just sit on top. usually avoidable by heating the contact point until the solder "flows" and is usually smooth. if its a bubble on top, its likely a bad connection.

looking at your unfiled connections left to right, 1, 2, 4, 10 could potentially cause you problems. see how they bubble (sit) on top vs fill in like the rest?

Thanks for the advice.

I've been using these two products. I've cleaned the compound off after each attempt and reapplied.

After my third try all I got was the trip meter.

Pretty humid. I live amongst a bog.

Haha. I thought those ones came out the best.

looks like you have the right stuff. I hope you get it working. Maybe try reflowing the solder joints on the spring connector side too?

5,6,9 look like the machine layed joints you see on the rest of the board. see how you can't tell where the solder stops and circuit board begins?

I took the entire cluster out this time so I could view the back. They looked okay to me. I made a post about it if you have the time to look it over. Thanks.
